Job Description

Trekkor Control Works is an engineering & integration company specialising in the design and implementation of automation and control projects that will empower organisations to embrace the new technology revolution, IIoT. We are offering a unique opportunity for a Senior Automation and Control Engineer to join our rapidly growing team. He/she will be responsible for designing and implementing manufacturing technology for the automation of production processes and equipment, in order to assist production operations, when it comes to equipment and process troubleshooting, in meeting the requirements of our customers and European, North American and Asia Pacific markets. You will also be responsible for working closely with our clients´ engineers and technicians to solve automation and control system issues. The position is for part of our Madrid team, although local residency is not necessary.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND PROFESSIONAL ATTRIBUTES
Desirable skills for this role include:
    • 3/5 years of experience in control systems in the engineering field.
    • Expert knowledge of the following software: PLC programming: “Ladder Diagram (LD); Sequential Function Charts (SFC); Function Block Diagram (FBD); Structured Text (ST); and Instruction List (IL)”. HMI programming: “Wonderware and Rockwell Software HMI and SCADA software”; additional experience with Ignition software is a plus.
    • Prior experience in the design, programming, start-up and troubleshooting of industrial control systems.
    • A BSc degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Electronics Engineering is desired; consideration will be given to other degrees.
    • Ability to travel (overnight stays) 30-50%.
    • Ability to understand panel layout drawings and electrical schematics.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Your role:

    • Design and implement changes to the existing manufacturing equipment that will improve operational efficiencies.
    • Design, install and validate the automated control system for new or upgraded businesses systems.
    • Generate and revise standard operating procedures.
    • Implement corrective and preventative actions to improve manufacturing operational efficiencies.
    • Provide technical advice and interact with the client´s Quality department regarding project work and change control documentation.
    • Ability to estimate the time required for engineering activities.
    • Ability to be flexible in work assignments.
    • Plan and execute engineering project work with minimal supervision.
    • Provide technical support for safety and quality improvement initiatives.
    • Continuously improve technical skills and industry knowledge by studying software design and implementation techniques, state-of-the-art development tools, participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
    • Responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy working environment, and taking reasonable care of your own personal health and safety at work, as well as that of all other staff.
