Herbert & Greefspan
Case Studies

Development of control and supervision systems for two photovoltaic plants built by SunPower. Herbert & Greefspan are two photovoltaic energy projects that have been developed near Douglas, South Africa, in the Northern Cape province. WIth a 33-megawatt power generating capacity, this project is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2014. The projects aim to provide locale construction jobs at the same time as offering clean and safe energy to the community. Herbert will have 3,996 sensors and 91,908 crystalline photovoltaic modules. The facility will produce 51,287,682 kilowatt hours per year (kWh), which is equivalent to saving 16,700 tons of C02 emissions. Greefspan also has 1,998 sensors and 45,954 modules that will produce 6,966,944 kWh per year, equivalent to 8,800 tons of C02.

Antelope Valley
Case Studies

Antelope Valley Solar is a 579MW photovoltaic plant installed across two plots in California. Construction will start at the beginning of 2013 and finish in 2015. When fully connected, it will deliver a sufficient electricity supply to support the equivalent of 400,000 homes. Trekkor will develop the solar plant’s control and monitoring system. As soon as the plant has been completed in 2015, this Trekkor-developed software will be able to control all of the day-to-day processes carried out in the plant. It will store relevant information about the power generation process, manage alarms for the equipment installed within the plant and allow operators to monitor all processes occurring in the plant from a single control centre.

Urbaser
Case Studies

Implementation of a pilot project using Wonderware technology in the Urbaser Waste Treatment plant located in Lliria (Valencia).

Trekkor will develop a reporting system that can be used independently by plant operators and users. Reports will be generated using the information provided from Triage, Composting, and Maturation processes. In this way, the information can be used by system users to make decisions in real-time and analyse historical facts.

California Valley
Case Studies

California Valley Solar Ranch. Supervision of 250MW photovoltaic power, in San Luis Obispo, California.

Trekkor will provide technical support during the plant commissioning process and supervise the process of connecting electrical substations to the outside network as well as carrying out engineering work or any necessary paperwork.

Cranbury Township
Case Studies

Trekkor will be responsible for integrating an IP system with the plant’s pre-existing control system.

The different data sources will be unified via an OPC UA system into one single system. Remote access securitization for the PV’s control system will be one of the main priorities when it comes to monitoring and updating this project.

Abantia
Case Studies

Development of a control system for food factories. The Trekkor HMI project manages and controls the Cold area of food factories.

The app can be used to send activation, deactivation, and temperature commands to the machines involved in the food cooling process. The HMI system makes the process safer and more reliable as operators must log in to the system before modifying any parameters. The system provides real-time information to the machines involved in the cooling process, managing the production stages and informing operators.

Lake Pleasant
Case Studies

7.5MW monitoring within a water treatment plant in the City of Phoenix, Arizona. This project that was carried out by Trekkor for Sunpower and the City of Phoenix is based on the development of an HMI system for controlling a solar plant that generates 7.5MW of power. The project was developed using Wonderware software in order to implement a monitoring and control application that operators will use to verify the good condition of the plant and for energy management. The application has a user-friendly graphic interface. The system collects and stores any data received from the different components deployed within this field. Security is of utmost importance in these types of facilities. This is why Trekkor has implemented a special control section within the app for quick visualization and management of any alarms that may be generated within the facility.
